Therapist Practice in a Box Tip #33 Niching Down But I Need To Eat

There is are many good reasons to niche down in your private practice, however, there is also a strong need to be able to eat and pay your bills. This tip needs to be implemented over time to allow you to build you caseload up to the clients you have the most passionate about. Take about 6 months to build your caseload of the top three to four specialty areas that you want to be known for. When you fill out your practice profiles with directories like Psychology Today or Good Therapy do not select all the specialties you can. Narrow the field down to the pain points you really understand and know best. These are the clients that should energize you, the ones you know how to help them solve their problems and reduce their pain points.
